My Fest and Holiday Inn wristbands have been off for days, but they still feel like they're there.
It's freakin' me out.

I wore my Fest 5 wristband almost up to Fest 6 before cutting it off because I made a bet with Tony that I could for a free Fest 6 pass. He invited me to be part of the Fest Photo Crew though, so I cut it off. It is amazing how weird the plastic gets after that long.

I told my buddy Haven I'd keep it on till it fell off. And I'd tell him when it happened. But looks like I'll just be switching them out next year.

I'm not say the Fest will take anyone up on that bet but it is a good challenge!

This years wristbands seem way less sturdy than last years. I had a competition with my brother and his girlfriend to see who could keep it on the longest last year. My brothers got cut off in a meat slicer at work and mine fell off from normal wear and tear around the end of January. So his girlfriend won... No one wanted to compete with me this year, but I'm still wearing it.

Way too many people were losing their bands this year, fairly positive they are EXACTLY the same as last (and previous?) years. Got them all on my wall right here. I think the real problem is that they were not being put on tight enough so they would snag during festing and rip off. I had mine put tight, still looks brand new.

wrist bands were fine for me, but it was the photo passes that kept ripping or coming off easily from the lanyard/key chain no matter how i attached it

Plus you were probably seperated from everyone and clutching a camera. Except when you were drunk and acting a fool during Drag the River. j/k.

Mine came off within two minutes of the first band I saw. Granted, I was flailing around like a tasmanian devil within thirty seconds of entering the show, but still.
I can say that, in my case, the actual fastener snapped clean in two. By comparison, I drunkenly ripped my own wristband off on Sunday night last year, and it was the wristband, rather than the fastener, which proved to be the weakest link. However, this does not directly disprove the tightness hypothesis.
It ended up working out really well that way, though. At the end of the night, I went home and stapled it back together, but loose enough that I could just slip it off and keep it in my back pocket with my ID, where it was much safer. Plus, since I spent most of my time Fest weekend sans wristband, I'd like to think that the wristband is all in my mind, where I can call on its power throughout the year.

Haha, were you standing right by me and witnessing all that by any chance? You should have said hi, don't know what you look like. Sunday was MY Fest, didn't really drink til then.
