Liō is the only comic strip to ever really peak my interest. Probably because it's on the dark side.

I was honestly scared for my life walking to my car afterwards. jeremy wrote: lucky for you there hasn't been a good horror/zombie movie out since....Dawn of the Dead was entertaining, thats the last one i can think of
And on that note, I'm one of those hardcore horror fanatics that loves anything related to Hannibal Lecter, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Romero. So I'll go see prequels, remakes, off shoots, whatever. As long as they don't completely suck I'll usually be into it.
I said "one of those hardcore horror fanatics" because most of them despise prequels, sequels, remakes, and salutes. While I love them. I think they are keeping the genre alive.
So the two shows I walked out of and got courtesy tickets for were both prequels: Hannibal Rising and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
Oh, and I was not too pleased with Land of the Dead, but loved Diary of the Dead. I'm so glad Romero realized his mistake of doing movies without complete creative control.
Back to comics, I love Calvin and Hobbes too!

if we're talking newspaper comics, the best currently running strip is Get Fuzzy.
I plan on getting a Calvin and Hobbes tattoo someday. Maybe a pick of them together, maybe two tattoos, one of each. If I go with one tattoo for each of them, I alreayd have the image of Hobbes picke dout, need ot decide on one for Calvin.

All the Calvin pissing on Chevy/Ford/whatever stickers on pickup trucks ruined that idea for me long ago.

now, I'll be pissed if any of you assholes steal this picture, but here's the image of Hobbes I'll probably get, if i don't ever find one of the two together that I like.

gully wrote: It's funny you say that. Because I was thinking about it the other day. It's kind of like saying color films are overdone. Or there's too many rock n roll bands out there. If there were as many films in the "sin city" style as rock bands, I don't think anyone would even notice or draw comparisons. It's just a style like anything else really.
i mean it's co-written and directed by Frank Miller and he created Sin City. i guess that's just the first thing i thought or noticed when i saw the trailer. i guess it's alright as long as that technique doesn't become the new 'matrix jump'

i'm pretty sure it was IDW who put it out, but some comic company teamed up with him and did a mini-series for the Thief of Always. i got them for my friend for his birthday. and read them. they also do a ton of horror comics. Walking Dead is really great. IDW was also going to do a one shot or mini series based on the cereal monsters (Frankenberry, Boo Berry, Count Chocula)

Oh man, I thought I was going to be alone.
Punk rock is my passion, but comic books are my hobby.
Favorite authors are pretty much the ones everyone universally praises: Brian Bendis, Brian Vaughn, Alan Moore, Geoff Johns, Joss Wheddon, Robert Kirkman.
Best artist is Bryan Hitch. John Cassady is second up.
I think I'm going to be a cheap ass green lantern for halloween.

It's a pretty well done tat and I'm still really chuffed with it. I have to see this when you come to The Fest. My only tattoo so far is Spider-Man on my leg, roughly 6x10. all this brits remind me of something funny- about 3 years ago, I found a comic book just sitting n the shelf in a Wal-Mart. It wasn't something they were selling in the store, it was an issue of Judge Dread from the mid 80's. No clue how it got left in a Wal-Mart. I thought that was cool on its own, then I noticed one of the stories inside was drawn by Steve Dillon (preacher). Instantly 10x cooler.
No worries dude.
If I get my computer fixed in the immediate furture and If this thread is still going i'll put some pics up.
I take it that you claimed this gift from the gods as your own then, I'd hate for it to rot on a Wal-Mart shelf.

GatoRanch wrote: I want to stress at this moment that I am not a violent person AT ALL, but I guess everyone has something that they'll get really mad about. I usually try to limit it to protecting my friends and animals. I'll rarely even defend myself and just avoid/leave the situation instead of fighting.
But after I've waited YEARS to see a movie, drive an hour, pay and insane amount of money and I can't hear what is going on or can't see it because someone is STANDING in front of me on the phone... I get a bit ticked off.
I do this constantly.. i cant bear people talking/texting/generally being dicks during a film i've paid up to $14 dollars to see. it's always full-on Costanza meltdown as well, standing up and bellowing. its amazing how many people shut the fuck up after one telling off though:)

I didn't have much of a collection but I lost it due to a house fire so I figured I would just pick my favorite character and start get him all back. Which is convenient since he just got revamped (not sure how I feel about the art yet). Got his Blood and Metal Series and just got Uncanny X-Men #201 in the mail today. It's just going to be a pain getting all the x-force and new mutants ones again. I'm really excited about the Ender's Game adaption, I hope they don't fuck it up since it is one of my favorite books. and I need to pre-order imax tickets for Watchmen, going to be amazing. oh and yes ladies if you were wondering I am single
I'll sell you my copy of New Mutants 87, make an offer!
