So, Orbitz fucked me over and my flight to Newark now goes via Minneapolis.. basically means I arrive 4 hours later into NJ than I would've previously.
Now, I don't mind this because I have an old friend in mn that I haven't seen in so long. The time between my flights is however, just over an hour.
What are my chances of being able to see her for ten minutes somewhere in the terminal? I expect I'll have to collect my bags and re-check in for my domestic flight, but is there an area where I can see my friend, or is an hour seriously g'na make it a pipe-dream that I can make this happen?
Let me know how your airports function! Or if you've been to mn and have a scope of the layout/inner workings of their airport.. Thanks!

I'm no expert, but I would think it's possible, if she's in the right place. Tell her to go scope out the airport ahead of time, AKA "case the joint"

she wouldn't be allowed to go into the terminal, the closest you would be able to see her at is if she met you at like the luggage claim area.

I think we must have different conceptions of terminal, 'cos luggage claim is in the terminal as far as UK types would be concerned, I think.

Your flight is UK - Minneapolis - Newark?
When my infos are right and its still like years ago: I think its nearly impossible you can see her and you even need to have luck to get your newark flight... You are checked by the customs/ immigration the first time you land.... so you need to get your luggage in Minneapolis, get in line for immigration and wait, answer the questions, luggage control, do the finger prints and then need to check in your luggage again to get your flight...
I've 2h stopover in Chicago, that should work.. but they also fucked up my flight from tampa to san francisco (over atlanta) on the 4th... my flight now from atlanta to -SF leaves 14 min EARLIER than I arrive in atlanta coming from tampa..

i would say not a chance!
it took us about 45 minutes just to get through immigration in philadelphia last year, then we had to pick up our bags, recheck them and go through security again! i don't think anyone on our flight even made their connection!

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I'd have to recheck my bags (friend said she hadn't had to on international>domestic flights she'd done, but it was a while ago)..
S'all good. It goes like this; WHERE'S THE HEADLIGHTS?!

in 2001 in denver I had to get my bag as well before immigration, but checking in again was easy, there was bascily right behind a guy taking the stuff agin fro transfer flights..
but a friend lately had to go to the counter of the airline to check his stuff in again, but not sure which town that was..
I guess thats a little different at every airport, smae like teh wainting time for the immigration, it can be some minutes, it can be half an hour.. make sure to outrun the people of your flight as soon as you have your luggage
