Hello!

So, a few thoughts .. is anyone driving from NY/NJ to Fest, and has room for a 'little' one? (I say little, because I'm not little at all, but I'm nice, promise.) One option for coming into the US early is hitting NY/NJ for the Young Livers show on the 26th, then heading South somehow. I also really want to do some touristy shit, so if you're up for indulging a stupid Brit on his first trip to the tri-state area, it'd be incredible.

Secondly.. what is the feasibility of hiring a sizable passenger van in New Jersey, and then either i) finding a company that has an office in Gainesville (or another Florida town within an easy distance of G-ville..) or ii) that would do some hellaciously cheap rental for a 12 person passenger van (or similar..), cheap enough to make it worth my while to drive it back up.

A third thought.. does anyone have/know someone who has a 12-person van that they would be willing to let some Brits 'hire' (for cheap/a lot of kisses) and put in the region of 2250 miles on the clock, returned to them with a full tank of gas..

Last one is the most far-fetched, I feel. But heck, you don't get if you don't ask. My line of thinking is that all the UK people who want to hit up New York before Fest, could club together, and travel down in a Fest OR BUST UK EDITION stylee, hitting up a few shows and eateries along the way. I don't know, I'm tired and it shows.

Can't wait to not be in England, if only for a week.

OR, if anyone has a car.. I am willing to drive you to Fest (26 yrs old, clean-ish driving license..), in return for uh.. the use of your car to drive to Fest.

Passenger van would be preferred, as I seriously think we could fill a 12-15 seater just with the adventuring British.

if I had a wad of disposable cash, and all the UK festers were gonna meet in NY to drive down, I'd fly up there just to ride with them.

I'm interested by your 'far fetched' idea although it depends on the time scale you're thinking of.

It's a bastard long drive, I like the idea of a giant UK road trip in theory, but in practice I can't really see past flying, probably.

Flying would be far easier though, of course.

I'm still after a local to help me realise my tourist fantasies though. I'm talking Ground Zero, general central NY bullshit, and I really want to go to queens / over the queensborough bridge to satisfy my King Of Queens lust.

That I'm up for, standard tourist crap in the day, partying all night.

We should all meet up and walk across the Brooklyn bridge to the awesome pizza place the other side. I went there with Brian (readysteadyjedi) last year and had the best fucking pizza ever. It was so damn good I even bought a tshirt!

Okay, new rough plans...

My current plan/vague plotting is as such;

23/10/07 - fly into New York
23-27/10/07 - Fuck about in NY/NJ inc. bowling at Asbury Lanes
including with a Young Livers show on the 26th, and muchos tourist
bullshit and tomfoolery.
28/10/07 - fly to Gainesville, hire a car/minivan, sleep in it.
29/10/07 - drive to Tampa with as many van buddies I can muster to
split some of the costs.
29/10/07 - pre-fest show in Tampaaaaaaaa! TCOL are playing, fuck!
30/10/07 - back in Gainesville, take the van back, book into Holiday Inn.
31st - 2nd - FESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST!
3rd-6th - work my way back up the east coast.
06/11/07 - fly home, crying.

I think flying from NY to FL is going to work for me, but there will definitely be time in NY/NJ for serious party times.
