Last year was my first Fest and I ate the same few things:
Falafel from Gyro Plus
5 Star Pizza
Cake from Book Lovers Cafe
over and over again
To be fair thats pretty much all you need.. But if I want to broaden my horizons what are some good places to eat? I remember someone told me about I think a Jamaican place that did really good tofu steaks but I can't remember the name.

I was going to suggest Raggae shack too. Is that vegan place that was supposed to open up next to common grounds open yet, or did they just give up on it?

Other than what is suggested above, a friend who is vegan recommends these places:
The Jones
43rd St Deli (its hit or miss though)
Las Margaritas
the Jones/43rd is doable on a bike.
Last Margs is probably too far unless you have a car or a lot of time.

Gyro Plus is good, and located not too far from the venues, but if you wanna make a little side trip, the Falafel King over on Archer Rd. near I-75 is much better.

Oh, the Merlion is nice on SW 13th. It was probably my favorite place during my time there.

Reggae Shack was my place of choice last year, and the gyro/falafel place next to 1982, and Leonardo's.
This year I'm gonna make it my business to try everything though. So much food there, so many options, it was hard to choose.

There's Bahn Thai too! They're great but kind of expensive. But Micheal J. Fox and Woody Harrelson ate there once! I don't know what that means!

What's the place across the street from the Atlantic that has the vegan brunch menu on Sundays? I wanted to try that but it was over by the time I walked in.

Fox and Woody Harrelson were in Micanopy filming Doc Hollywood, and stopped in and ate at Bahn Thai. The staff took their pic and put it up on their wall of photos. There are some pretty interesting people up there. I have family up on that wall too! And I wanted to suggest Burrito Brothers, it is RIGHT across from Holiday Inn tucked secretly behind another building. It has awesome/inexpensive food and a nice patio to eat at. I walked there a couple time last Fest and found few people in line. Yup, he's right... it's The Top.
Emeliano's also has an AWESOME brunch! My fav house coffee, black beans/rice, and Sangria in Gville! They also have guava and mango mimosas! Yum.
