Hey all, Danny from Loosey’s here. Just eight days till the ‘official’ kick-off of Fest 11 … For those of you hitting town early, good for you ‘cause shits gonna get started way before Friday afternoon down here at Loosey’s.
Wenesday, October 24
It’s burger night at Loosey’s which means from 4p-9p we have our $5 burgers (with fries) and they’re amazing… just ask your favorite Gainesville local and they will attest. After that, we’ve very recently decided to have a pre-pre Fest show. Doors are at 9pm and yes, there will be a cover, but 100% of the door goes back to the bands here at Loosey’s so you will be paying for the music - not our overhead! We’ll have band lineup and set times for you as soon as we solidify it all. Confirmed so far: Whiskey & Co., Maladroit (France), Andrew Cream (UK Soloists) and The Young Hookers (new Gville boys ready to blow your face off!). Waiting to confirm one more and we will have details as soon as we get them nailed down!

Thursday, October 25
So we are doing something totally weird (well at least for us) and we’re opening for lunch (11:30am)! So go to early registration and then head over for some grub. Also, if you have an international passport we want to reward your jet lag with an ‘across the board’ bottled beer special... $4 for whatever craft beers are in the cooler (only 22oz bombers are exempt). It’s an all-American microbrew selection (cause that’s kind of our thing), and your chance to try something new… everyone from around the states – don’t feel left out! You’ll be able to enjoy our already awesome and wallet-friendly happy hour specials until 5pm. Also – the kitchen closes early on Thursday (5pm)… sorry party people, our kitchen staff has a lot of prep to do to make sure we can feed all of you for the rest of the weekend. BUT the rest of the weekend: Fri/Sat/Sun – the kitchen will be open ‘til 1am!!!

Friday, October 26
Before/during/after regular Fest registration, we’ll be open (early again - 11:30am) so head on down and have some bbq and a beer (or 10) with you favorite FESTers. We are right in the middle of the FESTivities and even some of the folks from your favorite bands may be passing through, making the Loosey’s patio the perfect place to park your butt and enjoy some people watching at its finest.
Starting at 6:30 the shows kick off with Broadcaster and Arms Aloft. Check the schedule and find out who is playing when!

Saturday, October 27
Fest BRUNCH! (11a-3p) and we don’t play... The crew will be cranking out some of the best hangover curing, stomach coating, breakfast food you can imagine. Also, make sure to buy a $5 Blackberry Stoli Sangria Fest mug ($2 refills allll weekend long!) Last year was crazy and packed so we’ll be trying to accommodate that as smoothly as possible if you all show up in full force again. Joe McMahon from Smoke or Fire (big time Loosey’s bud) will kick off the tunes at 1pm followed by a Restorations acoustic set and then a mystery band (can’t tell you who, but it’ll be worth getting up for, I promise). Be there early… we got full pretty quick last year and some folks had to wait outside and hear about the badassery later via iPhone photos and stories. Don’t be that guy (or girl), just get here early and see for yourself.
At 3:30 (and the reason Tony is able to do Fest during football season every year at the end of October) is the FL/GA football game… “The World’s Biggest Cocktail Party” is in Jacksonville so our little football town can be taken over by FESTers for 3 days. And as I write this, the Gators are 6-0 and #2 in the BCS polls… so beating the Bulldogs this year is a pretty big deal for the Gator Nation and we’ll have 3 big screens TVs on the game to catch every bit of the action. If you’re a Gator fan, football fan, or are just curious - come on by!

Music starts back up after the game and with the likes of Nightmares for A Week, Half Hearted Hero and New Bruises, this is gonna be a super rad day to just be hanging around. Also, Luther is back at Loosey’s and we are super stoked about that!

Sunday, Oct 28
FOREIGN BODIES SHOW!
Ever wanted to see an international band while at Fest? Or have a favorite from your home town and want to catch their set on the other side of the pond? This is your chance ‘cause we got pretty much ALL of them! We will be open at 11:30am (again!) for your lunch cravings then the music kicks off at 1:50 and goes till the end. (No seriously, we have the very LAST show at Fest 11.)

Other things you should know about Loosey’s:
As I mentioned before, we will be serving food ‘til LATE everyday (Fri/Sat/Sun) including BBQ pork, BBQ Tofu, traditional Fish and Chips, the most delicious Burger in Gainesville, and some other tricks/treats that are signature to Loosey’s (read: truffled cheese fries and ass kickin shrimp). With some of the friendliest staff in town, potentially the loudest PA (per square foot) in the area and an environment that’s always a blast, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Come by and see us! Say hey, give a high five, and have the time of your life.
