I miss the old days of the board. The epic Fest sex threads, the jokes, all the old posters. I see people taking themselves seriously on here and stuff now. It's weird. I feel like a stranger on here. WHERE DID THE GOOD TIMES GO?!

seriously.. The board has been slow too. This year we've only had half of the posts we usually do.

Yeah, not the same as a few years ago... Way less posts/posters and conversations that sound so serious that I'm afraid to make an obnoxious joke half the time...
Personally, I know I used to spend a lot more time goofing around with the board when I got paid to be in the same room as a computer and look busy. Now I'm doing actual physical labor and trying to goof off on your own time via smart phone just ain't the same.

I think a lot of people just check the unofficial fb group this year and don't bother with the forum. It's unfortunate.

College ended. Real life began again.
I'd love to help revive the absurdity.

i think there's a few reasons for the lack of board interaction.
one, people use facebook now more than they have last year and the year before. in doing so, we can keep in contact with fellow festers year round without depending on the festboard.
two, there's definitely a gap between people who have gone to Fest multiple times and people who have only gone once, twice, or never before. it's the same as the difference between freshmen and seniors in high school. it's not that we can't co-exist or hang out, but there's definitely two different social environments overlapping each other.
three, for us repeat offenders, is there much that the festboard can offer us that we don't already know (generally) or haven't already experienced? the last three fests, i've care equally or more for seeing old friends and hanging out (while watching great bands) than i have for just seeing the bands.
when can we get Fest Vets membership cards? say anyone who's attended at least 5 Fests. perks could include discounted passes/ line skips/ free pbr/ etc.

We also get to skip the bar lines too. I feel like for the most part, everyone who's posted in this thread has been going to Fest since at least 5 or 6. That's a lot of time and a lot of mileage. Do you know the damage it's caused to our livers? I just remember when checking the Fest board was always exciting. I guess we're all just a bunch of dinosaurs now.

If the "dinosaurs" are going to "brag", I've been going since Fest 3... the other day I dug out the schedule from that, notable items I remember.... -Torche's first show. -Baroness opening the Atlantic on Saturday afternoon -all of good pop punk bands played at the Sidebar (now Spannnnk) -Against Me!, Lucero, STRIKEFORCE DIABLO Saturday Night at Common Grounds (now high dive) -Hot Water Music, Engine Down, Planes Mistaken for Stars Sunday Night at Common Grounds -Registration @ Wayward -Free rolls from Leo's with Fest Wristband ....still one of my favorites
