Hey, everyone who reads

I'm planning on going to Fest this year, I am from South-Africa and would like to know what hotels are good(meaning- kind of clean, other Fest goers will be at, about 5miles from where everything is going to happen, just the best place for the least amount of money and effort) and if any of you are willing to show me around and maybe get drunk with me that would be cool

Edit: I read something about backyard camping, if someone has an extra space or so I'm willing pay about half of what I would spend at a hotel so yeah that would also be spiffy

Hotels, as of now, will probably be a hard catch. I'd google hotels and motels in the area for phone numbers and websites. Words of advice, stay away from the Rush Lake Motel. That's the place you definitely don't want to stay. There are quite a few of h/motels on NW 13th and Univ (east of 13th) that are great locations, all walking distance to Fest Hotel & venues.

As far as someone to get drunk with, hit me up, I drink a lot.

I drove past Rush Lake the other day and it looked closed. There were some "For Sale" signs or something. What was so bad about it?

Good to know. Oh, dude, it was horrible. I work at Shands, & I hear horror stories all the time from patient family members. Being robbed has been a big complaint, and I know from personal experience just walking through a couple years ago of the super sketch people and drug use. We removed it from our hotel registry about 1.5 years ago. ha.

I really hoped that place closed.

there is a group of us staying at the Magnolia Plantation in a couple of the cottages they have...if you book it through VRBO.com (ie. just e-mail her and say you want that rate- so no B&B options) you can get a two bedroom house for $150+ tax of one bedroom for $125...they all have pull out couches, full kitchens (save on eating out), etc...and they're all within walking distance to the venues. I think the furtherest venue is 1.1 miles but most are between 0.3-0.6miles...if you can get a group together it could be very cheap! Last I looked they still had places available...
