I just noticed the update on the Fest site about trying to get Abbey Road as a venue. Is that the huge place that they used for the big bands like D4 at Fest 5? If that's the case and if they do get it I'm assuming some big bands are still possibly in the pipeline. I don't actually remember liking the place much and I ended up fairly crippled after the Bomb busted out Rayguns Rat Patrol but if it means some more bands being added then that can't be bad!

Where exactly is the building that Abbey Road used to be? I'm pretty sure it's on University, but I don't know where since it was before my time.

Also, somebody is starting a rumor that the Venue/Florida Theater of Gainesville won't be having Fest this year so they're moving it to Abbey Road. I don't buy it considering Tony said if they're getting Abbey Road to reopen they'll get more bands. I would think that if they lose the Venue, they can't get more bands.

It's pretty much right across the street from the Venue only set back a bit from the main road as far as I remember.

I too read somewhere about the Venue not being used but I've seen nothing other than chat board talk about it. It doesn't make sense really as seeing as Abbey Road or whatever it's now called hasn't been secured as a venue, where were bands like Lagwagon gonna be playing originally?

I'm sure it's the Venue still. I see some bands on their sites listing it. Gotta have the Venue and 8 Seconds for those bigger bands now.

ok, there is 3 bands, that would have played the venue, who told me that there won´t be no florida theater this year. i´m not making this up. but they also told me that there will be something equal, so everything will be fine. hated that black hole anyways

Sadly the Venue was better than Abbey Road as far as I can remember! I seem to remember it feeling almost like an aircraft hanger!

If I am thinking of the right place but I am not sure cause last year was my first Fest...I am sure it was a Nightclub last year cause I remember one night (Sunday?) it was open and Ladies got in for 'Free'!

I thought what was "Abbey Road" became that douche-club-bar The Vault?
