Second Street Bakery was cool, as I got to see Defiance, Ohio and This Bike is a Pipe Bomb for the first time when I went there, and we ate some rad fresh-baked bread, but it was far as fuck away from everything else, and I was already tired from walking to and from the ABC Motel all weekend.

Haha. ABC is pretty far from the action. I hope you learned your lesson.

ABC was pretty cool just the same, becaue we met some cool dudes who were staying there, but it was pretty damn far. I had to compensate for the distance by drinking two glasses of whiskey and orange juice right when I woke up.

There's buses on Fridays and Saturdays you know. And I think they added them to Sundays as well just before I left. But they're limited on Sundays.

Yeah, I walked all the way there last year.

this could just be my current state of lazyness but I consider 1982 to far. last Saturday night i just ended up driving back and forth between them and common grounds. worked out in my favor that AAA didn't play so i was able to see No Trigger, The Flatliners, Paint It Black, and Savage Brewtality even though they were all playing about the same time as eachother.

wow, you saw both No Trigger and PIB? I was bummed that they played at almost the exact same time, I chose PIB over No Trigger though.

yeah it was a lot of luck on my side, mainly that there was always parking near the club when I went back and forth a couple times. with gas prices now doubt I could do that this year, I'll just have to bike back and forth

Vice Magazines online TV shows have one called AMERICANA. which is quite possibly the best thing ive ever watched.
here is one of the Black Lips and a Vice reporter on a quest for white lighting in South Carolina. which i guess has been outlawed? so they are super shady about it.
hysterical.
seriously watch this.
north carolina's best female taxidermist episode is pretty good too.

oh! and i'm also glad CG's will still be in it to win it. the kickstand is like a five block/10 minute walk from CG's. and is a really great space!
there are these HUGE brand new condos going up right next to Common Grounds. can i say sound ordinance? those people are gonna be pissed.
mm thinking about the bqq in the rain is making me hungry.

OK so you AREN'T talking about moonshine at all. Is that alcoholic??? GiveBlood wrote: maybe I'll bring some of my homebrewed beer with me to The Fest.
i think it's time for me to start the beer nerd thread. The beer nerd thread over at the Drag the River board is their longest one with the most replies. People LOVE talking about beer. GiveBlood wrote: yeah, over here White Lightning is slang for illegally distilled backwoods hard stuff, usually made from corn, about 6o% alc, and with no real flavorful qualities at all.
Yeah, if you ever have it with blueberry, raspberry, blackberry or such... NEVER eat the berry in the bottom no matter hoe purty it is or drunk you are!

I remember there was a bike shop across the street/around where the Venue was at. I might rent a bike for the weekend from there this year, unless there's somewhere else I should support over that one.
