Hey everyone,
A friend and I are coming over from Australia arriving in LA the 24th, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions about the best way to get across to the Fest. The catch is that we're both bringing bikes packed up in bike bags, which adds a fair bit to flights from what I can see. Mainly though, I'm just getting swamped trying to search through all the different air travel sites, and I haven't made my way to rail or road yet.
Any tips are very much appreciated!

I'm assuming you love your bikes which is why you're bringing them, but The Google is telling me there are bike shops in Gville that rent bikes. And renting a bike has got to easier/cheaper than hauling yours all the way around the world. Also, I'd fly from L.A. to Gville because with only a few days between 10/24 and the start of Fest, you're going to spend all your time traveling if you take a bus or train. You do have to traverse the entire continent. I'm just worried you'll not get much rest between leaving Australia and getting to Gville if you don't fly, and being worn out for almost a week before starting to Fest is a terrible idea.
I just checked cheaptickets.com and found a one-way flight from LAX to GNV on 10/27 for $181 USD.
Sorry if I rained all over your parade. I hope I was helpful.
