I have yet to buy my plane tickets and am wondering if anyone from oc is down to make a roadtrip out of it? I really dont want to head over there by myself and get off the plane not knowing anyone or where the hell i am.

Wow, good timing! I just moved from Costa Mesa but I'm still close and in the same situation. The closest major airport is Orlando, so splitting transportation to Gainesville (about a hundred miles) and a hotel would cut the costs on this trip way down.

ironically im from costa mesa. Im fairly new to so cal (from nor cal). so i dont know anyone really. Im not a drinker but im a damn good soberdriver.
