My advice: cross the border and get a flight from somewhere in America down to Gainesville. I did this when I was in Toronto and flew from Buffalo, NY. Works out a way load cheaper. I dunno if there are any equivilant airports near the border in Calgary.

yeah, take mumbledwords's advice, im doing that too, im from Mexico and my friends and i are going to take a flight departing from San Diego to Orlando because it's way cheaper than going to Gainesville directly, i saved like 100dllrs the round trip, we are arriving on the 27th in the morning so we are going to have a day to do some cool stuff in Orlando before heading to Gainesville

I just looked at the Calgary border however, one it's pretty far and two, the American side looks like wilderness. Seattle looks like the nearest city...

I'm heading out there and I'm from Vancouver!
However, I am doing as the above people suggested and flying there from the US. Seattle or Bellingham.. It makes it a TON cheaper!! I'm sure if you hop on a bus or just drive to the closest border city in the US (probably Seattle) it'll still be cheaper than flying right out of Calgary.

Traveling from Canada, the niagara region, flying out of buffalo, found a wicked cheap flight with delta, connection in hotlanta. 300$, before tax US$. used airmiles and it was free. Travelling with a pal and coming down the Thursday. Early. Leaving early AM Monday. Party.
