I went to Fest 8 with a press pass for a newspaper i was working for at the time, lost that job and went to Fest 9 with a normal ticket. Anyway, I emailed some Fest organizers about it and was told they would have an application process for press passes this year cause there were so many requests. I run a blog that gets a couple hundred to a thousand hits a month so I'm hoping to get a pass and interview a shit ton of bands, etc.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the situation is with press passes. Thanks!

nope.. i run a zine since years .. at the best times we had like 2k-3K hits per day, but we aren't so active anymore so it went down, but I always bought my ticket normal way, as I didn't want to rely on some application and then standing there with flight from europe but without a ticket

I have a ticket already so I'm gonna be doing interviews and general Fest coverage anyway, but I was hoping to get a press pass on behalf of the site to take a photographer or second writer along.

just carry some kind of digital/analog recording device, chances are pretty good the people you want to interview will be walking about before or after their shows and down for a short interview, last year i kicked myself for not bringing such a thing, this year i will be ready tho...
