Yeah there's still shitty heavy bands that love Biohazard too much, but great bands are poppin up all over the place. hardcore lives! Ayt, I'll give em a listen. I'd love to like hardcore again. However, in direct contrast to my scene-related rant, the comment about it not floating my boat wasn't necessarily meant as a diss, nor was it necessarliy meant to refer only to beatdown bullshit. Sometimes, music I like just takes a direction that I'm not feeling, or at least not at the moment. |

Most of the bands i consider good hardcore bands, weren't considered "hardcore" in their heyday, just punk. That's just the way I perceive it, too, which is part of my problem. Silliness was bound to ensue once "hardcore" began to morph from an adjective into a genre. |

There will always be the "mainstream" hardcore scene. You know, whatever the trend is at the time. Early 2000s we had a million Comeback Kid style bands, couple years later every band wanted to be Have Heart and now we have bands trying to be "street" and everything like Trapped Under Ice. There will always be great bands just under the surface though.
