The Measure (SA) ...prepare to fall in love with 'em

such a good band! i've been listening to their part of that new split 7" over and over the last 3 days

I'm so stoked to hear you guys say this! I was gonna encourage everyone to check out the Measure, cause they are some of my very best friends (incidentally, if y'all have the Union Pool 7" you can check out my ugly mug on the insert)!

Last year not that many people checked em out (which might be for the better, as their set was fraught with technical snafus) but with all the touring and their veritable blitzkrieg of records they've done this year, I really hope many people will be checking out my mans!

I'll put it to you this way, if you're thinking about seeing the Measure, come find me at their show, mention this thread and I'll float you some booze! You can't beat that!

*PS sadly Mike is departing the Measure, but at the Fest Fid will be playing guitar in Mike's place and the drums will be taken over by none other than Mikey Erg, so get stoked for that!

i just found another split 7" with the measure - the one with o pioneers!!! (i previously only had the modern machines split), and i can honestly say that those two songs took the measure from my "really wanna see"-list to my "have to see, whatever happens"-list

did you get one of the rare Aaron Danger versions of the vinyl? there's only like 20 of 'em.

nah, i got the digital, pirated mp3 version of both. i'll be buying them when i get to gainesville though.

ahh you might have a chance at getting one of 'em then.

This guy knows what he's talking about!! They are number one on my priority list even above Naked Raygun!

I would still be flying out to the US if they were the only band playing!!

The Humanoids, from St. Louis, are definitly an underdog band. Unless you're from the midwest you have not heard of them, theyre not on a label(yet), and they havent toured yet. I hope a good number of people at the Fest check them out because they are fucking awesome. Theyre self-released album HUMANOIDS ARE BORN has gotten good reviews all over the place, and their live shows are fun as shit. WE'RE ALL TARGETS NOW!!!!!!

When the Modern Machines played in St. Louis, we didn't play with them, did we? Hey, are you even the same Ron I'm thinking of, the guy we all met from Hot Atomics? I mean, your name suggests so, but you never know.

yes, this is ronnie from hot atomics. Humanoids didn't play that show, they formed a few months later. oh yeah, if this is the guy from momacs that I think it is, then thank you for not prank calling me this year and telling me that you got my band on the Fest.

It was actually really funny, you and Barker called me at 1 in the morning and told me we'd be playing the same stage as Skaleluah, Arkanska, etc. after about the fifth random word with ska in it, I said "So, this is a prank call then." you just laughed and hung up. I could actually hear the cheap beer in the backround rooting you on.

Oh! Well, in that case ...

Hey, when do you get to NYC? You're playing the Bowery Ballroom for CMJ, you know. Can you put me on the list?

A death in The Family are amazing. They toured the UK last October and were fantastic. Their (Frankie Stubbs from Leatherface produced) record is definitely in my best records of 2006.

Off With Their Heads and Four Letter Word are touring together and I've managed to hear the songs off the forthcoming No idea records and they are the fucking champs!

my personal three right there!
