yeah, i was writing my last post and thinking 'why am i bothering?' - i blame the lack of THE SCHEDULE making us just tread water conversationally. As soon as that sucker drops this thread will sink like a freakin' stone

Maybe this mentallity on females is what is helping to hold back females from playing an active part in punk rock music. But then, what do I know, I'm just the tolken angry feminist, aren't I?
Whoa, slow down for a second. I don't think girls at shows are a bad thing at all. My girlfriend is going, but it's the whole issue of making sure she's having fun and having a good time, and we like different music. So, we're going to be at different shows, and I don't want her to get pissed off, if i'm off on my own agenda. I'm not looking down on women at all.

He's more of a metal guy as it is, so hopefully he'll learn to appreciate some new music.( I mean, he was the one who wanted to tag along.) But if not, Thanks for that link on where to send uncooperative significant others.
I am so stoked.
you should have him check out the band page for bands playing the Fest. there's lots of different sounds and styles going on. he'd probably dig the Atlantic shows. there's some bands on it that i'd consider metal.

i don't think he was insinuating that at all. the first time i went to Fest, it was me, my friend, and his girlfriend. His girlfriend was more into lighter indie/folk stuff and he wanted to check out bands like Dillinger 4 and the Lawrence Arms. As it happened he didn't even get to see many bands, had a sub-par time, and it added tension between him and his girlfriend. Don't bring your girlfriend/boyfriend or even your friends if you know they aren't into the same music as you, open-minded enough to check out a variety of music, or independent enough to check out another band while you enjoy a band you wanted to see. if you're girlfriend, or boyfriend, likes the same music/ bands as you or is cool enough to check out another band they like while you enjoy the band you want to see, then bring them along. if not, keep them at home.

Bring whoever you want to.
Go see what you want to see.
Do what you want to do...
If you can't go to a show because of the person you're dating, why are you dating them?
Go see what you like, take or leave who you want to.
Meet up later?
Pick out shows you both don't really care about & hang~out.
Don't go with someone fickle.
Don't go with someone who wants to be with you every second of the day.
If the person isn't interest at all in anything Fest related, leave them at home.
Have fun!
Singles, get at me.
