I'd really rather not get the university involved in this. Play the Holiday Inn roof. That would be sweet as hell.

rjcresswell wrote: Hey, I'm trying to find somewhere Austin Lucas and I can play during the Fest. We would also be accompanied by Austin's friend, Aaron Stout, and maybe one or two other acoustic bands. I've been a handful of times, but I'm not that familiar with Gainesville. What are some good outside places to play impromtu shows? Parks, parking lots, any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, RJ http://www.myspace.com/sawwheel http://www.myspace.com/austinlucas1 http://www.myspace.com/aaronstout
i saw, saw wheel, in an apartment last year, it was awesome,
post info if you end up deciding on a place to play

I don't see what would be wrong with playing at the plaza of the americas. As far as I know there's no approval that you need to get or anything like that, could be wrong though.

Can anyone get more info on the Plaza? Can we really just play there?
Also, would the top of Holiday Inn really be possible? That would be pretty fucking sweet!

There's a pool up there. And it's the official Fest hotel. So I don't see why not man.

that or the outdoor bar on the roof of the building painted like a cow...they had cheap wings there last year...so you'd be outside and get to drink as well...might be cool

That's Mojito's. They got a stage up there an everything. Not to mention awesome beer specials.

I really enjoyed the show at the Plaza of Americas last year. I hope there is another one. Nothing better than to start the day with a chill out rather than going straight to a thrash show

I don't know...the Atlantic was pretty fucking swell last year...lots of amazing bands played WAY early...12 hours of punk in one day...that's a Fest.
