this is my first time going to the Fest. do the shows at the different venues run simultaneously? as in, i might miss band A at venue 1 because im watching band B at venue 2?

yes they do, so there is the chance you have to pick between 2 bands you really want to see

here is an example of last years schedule (thanks to glypher of gainesvillebands.com) - http://gainesvillebands.com/DOCS/thefest5/thefest5.pdf

judging by last year's schedule, it looks like I can count on some difficult decision making for this year's Fest

apparently the Saturday Night lineup at Abbey Road is Dillinger Four, Avail, American Steel, Lawrence Arms, and Smoke or Fire
so you don't even have to leave the venue

this has not been confirmed or anything so keep your fingers crossed till the schedule goes up

Chris from the Draft told me their playing on the Sunday night instead of Saturday. I think the Draft and Seaweed are on the sunday and D4, LA, and NR are all saturday.

thats just the way gig dates work on myspace, that 7pm is probably the time the bands start and the 26th being the first night of the Fest, rather than the time they're on.. especially as that would mean they'd be on first.

Yes mate and it's a fucking nightmare!! I had to miss a lot of good bands last year but at least you know there's always gonna be someone you like playing at any one time.

There's a lot of great bands I wanna see this year and I know I won't get to see them all but if any of Raygun, Quadiliacha, Youth Brigade or Shot Baker clash I may have to either kill myself or sabotage someone's gear to delay them from playing 'till I'm ready!!

I heard from a reliable source that Naked Raygun and Youth Brigade are playing at the same venue on Friday night

will the individual show times and lineups be announced before the Fest? or in the Fest guide? i dont want to get there and have to make decisions last minute. i want a planned execution of my Fest events.

im so so so so so glad i'm going alone. haha.

Yeah they should be. Last year I printed out the times before leaving the UK and studied them on the plane for 8 hours just to make sure I didn't forget about anyone once the booze kicked in!

Thanks Conrad for the Raygun/Youth Brigade info. That's gonna be a great night!

thanks so much!! i will probably do the same thing. I looked at the list for last year and there were a few toughies. I'm just going to cross my fingers that the ergs, lemuria, paul baribeau, this is my fist, are either playing the same show or not on the same days/times. Im also super stoked to see the copyrights and monikers and modern machines and armalite.... and tons more bands too many to list. im so excited.
