So this year, I'm going to get fucking TROPHIES made for the Fest awards. ten categories, probably the same ones as last year unless somebody has any better ones (suggestions?)
the only complicated part of doing this is gonna be figuring out when and where to give these trophies out. it would kinda suck if the best band from friday didn't get their trophy because they left town on saturday to go play in tampa or something...

...that brings me to a whole nother topic altogether. I call BULLSHIT on bands that only come to Fest to play the day of their show and then leave. I understand that you're on tour and you don't wanna have any days off. but you gotta figure, if you go to orlando to play a show on saturday, you're probably gonna have a shitty show because everyone that lives in orlando that would go see your band is already in gainesville at Fest. why cant we all just relax and have fun for the weekend?

okay that's all for that rant. somebody give me some suggestions for Fest award categories!

hmm, I just went and looked at the categories for last year, and some of them are kinda dumb. here's what I'm gonna have for sure this year...
Best Band- Friday
Best Band- Saturday
Best Band- Sunday
Hardest Partier
Best Merch Table- basically I want to give a prize to the band with the cleverest Fest t-shirt, like vena cava's beard shirt or teh "this is my Fest" shirt. partially in hopes that bands will make more special Fest shirts. I love that shit.
I also wanna have a Best Beard this year.

I think there should Without a Doubt be a “2007 King of the Fest 6” award.

Another could be “The Naked Phil Bad Judgment Award” – An honor given to the person who makes Fest history by drunkenly doing something on par with getting on stage bare ass naked with D4, get arrested in downtown Gainesville, etc etc etc…

Or “The Toshi Award” for the person who was latterly fucking everywhere during the Fest 6 weekend

this is not really a Fest award...

but one of the nights, after the "official shows", people should set up a relay race around downtown gainesville. have teams, checkpoints, and (of course), have beers at each checkpoint that one must drink before their team can continue. it would be like an alley cat race but on foot...and hopefully a lot more drunk and less shirts.

but to get back on topic...how bout "best costume", "best Fest tattoo", and like "best cover"?
