This thread tends to be just me and Dan from DC (I think) but it's World Cup time so it's completely necessary. Plus, you Yanks are doing awfully well!
Italy going out today was crazy. It's been such a strange tournament - loads of really exciting upsets and quite a few good goals, but somehow not all that much good play.

Fuck the US, haha. Hup Holland Hup! I'm pretty sure since we have our group set, we might take it easy today against Cameroon.

Pretty much a full strength XI from Holland, not much of a game though, Holland are comfortable and Cameroon are just about on the plane home already.
Japan, on the other hand, are looking great!

I think the 49ers will have a good season. I hope Brett Farve plays another season

Honda was awesome for Japan tonight. His assist for their third goal was incredible. Skatepunk36 wrote: this Sunday Germany kicks out the UK of the tournament!!!!! no way we gonna loose Ahem. Kicks who out the tournament? PS. Jeremy, you are a disgrace. A champion video-making, predictable disgrace.

was stoked to see Italy lose today, sadly it's the only match I've managed to see so far this cup

I purposely came to this board first so we could get a World Cup topic going...hah.
I am certainly glad as an American supporter that we avoided the Germans in the Round of 16 and get to play Ghana. They have yet to score a goal outside of PKs...I think we can take 'em! And it's time for some revenge for 4 years ago.
And if I am going to predict a winner(s), I would have to say Brazil(needs no explanation), and Holland as a dark-horse contender. The power in their mid-field and upfront is pretty ridiculous.

England have been poor but I think we always under-perform against sides we should beat easily but manage to up our game against the bigger opponents, gonna be a good game on Sunday.
Argentina look too good for everyone at the moment though, they're my tip for it this year.

I'm with Dan. This bracket seems like it's tailor made for USA to make it to the semi finals but I def. think this Brazils tournament to lose.
