Hi
I'm going to New York before i come down to Gainesville, can anyone recommend a decent and reasonably inexpensive place to stay?
I don't really want to stay in a dormitory/hostel. but all the hotels I look at seem to want easily over $100 a night for a room. Doesn't have to manhattan either, i'm told williamsburg is a pretty cool place to be/stay? so as long as the area is safe and i can get to and from manhattan each day that's is cool.
Cheers

NYC isn't cheap to stay as you've discovered already so we opted for a private room in this hostel... www.americandreamhostel.comIt was a very basic prison cell type room but the place was quiet and the location was great. I would probably stay again I reckon.

We stayed at a place called The Sutton Residence. It is sort of a hostel, but only very small, and no dorm rooms, only private rooms. They do have a web site, just Google Sutton Residence. It is in an excellent location, and it was a really good place to stay, we are looking at staying there again after The Fest.
