THE Fest 9 does not condone, support, book, encourage, or want anything to do with shows that we do not officially organize during Fest 9 weekend or the days surrounding.

I've heard rumors Fest was banning any bands playing houseshows this year, so this post is going to be really vague. Did anyone go to that crazy house show with those hardcore bands on Saturday night? Does anyone have pictures or videos from that show? If so, don't post them here, but could you email them to me at mplante@mail.usf.edu ? Thanks

all the house shows are over, people can post whatever they want. It's not like cops are going to see a pic on this board, and go to that house now to hassle people.

It was in a packed living room and people kept crowd surfing and almost hitting the ceiling fan. GiveBlood wrote: all the house shows are over, people can post whatever they want. I heard they were going to ban any band playing house shows from ever playing Fest again. I also heard this prompted one of those hardcore bands to remove their tweet about the house show. Unless anyone else knows differently?

I don't KNOW anything, but: They asked bands playing the Fest not to play house shows. My take on it is that they don't want anything to do with house shows, so that any house show bullshit that might go down doesn't get unfairly tied to The Fest proper. I can't imagine them power-tripping to the point that they would find out about house shows after the fact and ban bands for playing after-hours. I'm pretty sure they have more important things to do than that, like catch up on sleep and stuff. Then again, if a band playing Fest did agree in some sort of serious way not to play house shows, and then did so anyway, well, then really, that's on them, isnt it? Remember, the only real reason that the whole house show thing has become so dicey is because of the crap that went down last year. It used to be way more laid-back just a few years ago (with addresses and line-ups put up on this board way in advance of the weekend). We're all just trying to stay out of trouble here, and keep the Fest from getting to be too hot a scene.

pretty much everything Phil said up there is how it is.
We don't "ban" bands after the fact for playing house shows. That's silly. We just asked that no Bands officially playing the Fest participate in any house shows this year so any crap that goes down doesn't get tied with the Fest in any way.

Sweet. Thats what I thought, but rumors were flying around and I just wanted to be safe. In that case, it was the Comadre/Punch/We Were Skeletons/H(E)I$T house show Saturday night. Here's two pics I have of it, if you have any pics/vids, please post them here:
