Presumably so one could see the schedule and locations and all that good stuff. And it's only an iPhone app so people with Androids (kind of like a 2nd rate iPhone) can't get it because their IT can only develop apps for iPhone. While I slightly resent your jab at android, I will say that the only reason I don't have an iPhone is because AT&T sucks a fat one, and it is fucking retarded that they have had exclusivity for this long. When Verizon gets iPhone ill get one. I was also under the impression that Android runs on phones that actually work properly i.e. anything other than an iphone!

Precisely. Android phones are for people that want their phone to...you know...work properly as a phone.

Anyhow, I'd like to take a moment to represent for paper. Paper still kicks ass in my book. It's you saying shit like this that makes me so happy every time I see you in Gainesville.

We are submitting to the App store hopefully tomorrow. Generally takes a week or less after that.

I'm an Android user and I've found a pretty decent alternative to using an app. I saved the spreadsheet of the schedule (located here: http://www.thefestfl.com/Fest9_Schedule_Web.xls) onto my Droid's SD card. Next, I downloaded the Quickoffice app so I can view the spreadsheet. Then, I created a shortcut to it on my home screen using the ASTRO File Manager app. Upon pressing the shortcut, you can choose which day's schedule you would like to view by pressing the 'Menu' key and then pressing 'Choose Worksheet' from the menu. It's easy to setup and all of the apps required to make it work are free. I also created a shortcut to the map on my home screen to the map of venues (located here: http://www.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104440245769518909016.0004753685642a368b123&z=16) so I can access it quickly if nesessary. And, now that Android supports flash, I created a shortcut on my home screen to the Fest radio too (located here: http://www.thefestfl.com/fest9radio.html). I've found that it's a convenient way to listen while in my car.

iPhone = for people who want a "pretty" phone with big shiny buttons that does only what Apple wants you to be able to do on it and only runs Apple's phone software.
android is open source (read: "modifiable by anyone and completely customizable") software made by Google that many manufacturers are building phones with. It's a million times more customizable, hackable, everything-able...
I had a second generation iPhone for about 6 months and it took a considerable amount of hacking to get it to do anything I really wanted it to do. Then the touch screen got "dead strips", which Apple said was common for that model, and was rendered completely useless.
