I'm going to Japan in November. But I want to go to Fest. Do I save to spend lots of money in Japan? Or do I go to Fest and skimp a little while in japan?

Fest is great but Japan will be really special, Maybe skimp on Fest a bit? Worse hotel, or crash with someone, no merch, stuff like that.

To be honest, I'd probably just stick around in Japan.

If you have to ask this question, then I am assuming that you don't have a very large reserve of loot somewhere. And that you will be spending money in Japan, as opposed to earning it.
Japan is stupid expensive, right? So, whatever you spend going to Fest could probably be blown in a day or two over there. You should go to Fest on a ridiculously shoestring budget, which will help prepare you for the realities of travelling in Japan without an expense account.

I think my main concern is the travel. Not necessarily being at Fest when there... Since I come from the land of bagel and pizza (NY) and I believe I may have no travel mates, I am going to have to plane it. There in lies the issue. I just don't know how to project my spendings.

There'll be UK people travelling from NYC because a lot will fly in there. Try posting in the Team UK thread for travel buddies.

Japan, Fest and Riot Fest is probably the way forward. I'm pretty sure we haven't - or at least not with me linking you to the board, anyway - but there's a pic of me at the sart of the introductions thread if you want to double check?
