Are you mad? Go listen to Walk Among Us.
What Jerry Only did after 1990 is what Jerry Only did after 1990 and that's all bullshit, but the Misfits actually made awesome, amazing music at one point. The Incredible Clown Party just sucks ass through a funnel, and I believe they always have.

Well, that was my discussion. Here, I'll state it as thesis.
"Those who think the Misfits are the ICP of punk rock are insane people. The Misfits made Walk Among Us which is an all-time classic record, while ICP's recorded output consists of a great big pile of shit."

During high school I had a going away party at my parents' for a friend. There were two tribute bands. Metallica, which was 14 to 16 year olds that ripped! The Misfits tribute band comprised of my school friends, 16 and 17 year olds. There was a "pit" on my parents' driveway of burnouts and skinheads. Kids were pouring out the soda my parents gave them and replacing it with beer they had in their car. There were older kids there too, 18 to mid 20s. My parents were serving burgers and weenies wearing Megadeth tshirts. The skinheads were caught by my Dad poolside shaving their heads into a buckets with clippers they found in the house. And in my bedroom I found a group of kids doing old school tattoos with indian ink and needles. These were not Nazi skinheads either btw, they were colorblind skins. This was the scene that loved the Misfits and Samhain circa 1989 in Tampa, FL. I don't even understand what the Misfits has to do with ICP. That is absolute blasphemy.

I was making an analogue, a tenuous one at best, between Devil Locks and face paint. But this is pretty much a bored discussion, not a serious one.

I think the easier comparison would've been between the face paint and the face paint. Also the fact that both parties have appeared in pro-wrestling at one point or another in one form or another. Still, as big of a douche as Jerry Only is, and as much as he's sullied an excellent band, ICP is still so, so, so, so, so so much worse.
As far as I can tell, ICP lyrics consist entirely of, "I'm a voodoo clown and I am going to spray you in Faygo, make some crude remarks regarding genitals, and then stab you. With my hatchet."

the real problem with ICP is the fact that people (and a lot of people at that) take that shit seriously. that's the crazy part. Like, if there was just a joke band consisting of 2 people who dressed like clowns and "rapped" about stupid shit like soda and hatchets, and they realized it was a joke, and everyone else realized it was a joke, then it wouldn't be quite as bad. would i listen to, no, probably not, but i could see where people could get a good laugh about it. the fact that there are people who have juggalo themed baby funerals scares the shit out of me.
p.s., if you havent seen the juggalo baby funeral, youtube it, its the saddest thing you've ever seen.
