i think i can break down my tastes this way.... -pre-WWII folk, blues, country -50s and 60 rhythm and blues/rock and roll/garage/chicago city blues -60s folk revival -60s and 70s american soul, funk, girl groups, motown -60s and 70s jamaican soul, ska, reggae -70s punk/glam/post-punk/new wave/etc... -80s hardcore/indie/some goth -80s and early 90s hip hop (mainly east coast/nyc rooted) as far a recent music goes, i pretty much only listen to diy rooted punk, hardcore and indie rock, for whatever reason. Your list just made be think that there needs to be an after Fest dance party. i dj a bi-monthly dance party benefit for a diy space in buffalo, and if there's anything like this going on Fest weekend, i would love to know about it. i would even burn some rare stuff i've scavenged to play if it happened!
