My friend and I are coming over from the UK, but don't fly out of Orlando till the 5th of November. Anyone have any suggestions of what we can do between the 2nd and the 5th? We should have a hire car, so getting places won't be a problem, if it's worth the travel. A day trip to Disney has crossed our minds, but need some more ideas. Good places to shop? Shows? Sightseeing? etc.

A bunch of UK people, including Kenny, saRah!, rob (coffee dog) and meng and garvey (some/all of who post on here) and myself will also be going to Orlando between 2nd - 5th. We're staying in the Orlando Continental Plaza which we got a sweet deal on through expedia. If you haven't booked anything yet you should look it up.
Not sure exactly what our plans are, but probably some general sightseeing / theme parking. And mini golf. Definitely mini golf.

I wish I hadn't booked to fly home on the Monday now. Mini golf is my sport of choice after bowling. Arse!

Thanks Lou. A game of Putt Putt sounds fun, although I tend to get very frustrated with the putting and end up whacking the ball into next week. When do you fly back on the 5th? and which airline?

I think we leave about tea time, and I think it's American Airlines.

And a couple of us are on US 728, leaves Orlando at 5pm on the 5th and goes to Heathrow via Philadelphia. I think some others are flying direct to Manchester that night, but not sure exactly when / who with. Have you got your flights booked up yet?

Flights are booked. We are flying with Northwest Airlines into Orlando on the 28th and return to London Heathrow via Detroit on the 5th around 6pm. If you hear of anything going on between the 2nd and 5th pls let me know.

Sure thing. I'm sure we'll meet you before / during Fest at some point!
Everyone I'm going with has either been to Fest or Florida before so I'm just going to rely on them to tell me what to do anyway!

Hi coffee dog. You know my ladies Crystal and Carly? Crystal is basically my wife and Carly, she is basically my other wife. Josh and Crystal will be out this way next year some time.
Kenny - Doh!
Looks like we are also staying at the Orlando Continental Plaza. I suggest a group Disney trip.
Look forward to meeting you both in G'ville! x

That's sweet that you're staying in the same hotel. We got tickets to go see Orlando Magic vs some other basketball team on the Wednesday night if you'd fancy that? Tickets were about £20 each for the cheap seats. And when are you heading up to Gainesville / where are you staying? We'll be there from the Monday, and are staying at the Paramount Plaza Monday - Thurs then moving to the Hampton Inn on the Friday.
