UPDATE!!

So my great adventure is at an end. 240 miles into my 6000 mile journey my van blew up. So feel good for not signing up for this all you silent viewers.

Fail.

Hopefully I'll find another way to Fest.

Hey potential Festers! Do you have a lot of time and a few hundred bucks on your hands? Here's the deal....

Im currently (9/7/09) near Sioux Falls South Dakota...and plan on leaving in a week or 2 to tour the scenic Rocky Mountains, moving SW before turning east to move across Texas and through New Orleans to reach the Fest by the end of October. My basic outline involves seeing lots of natural wonders in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. Seeing some cultural stuff in Austin and New Orleans. Taking my time, eating as cheap as possible, and sleeping in my van. But the more people that can hop on the journey, the lower the gas, and the more open it gets to fun and adventure.

So come on! Quit that shitty job, grab the money you have saved up and lets go!

After Fest I have no idea what I'm doing, prolly driving north to where I used to live in North Carolina and looking for work...cause I'll probably be out of money by then.

Im flexible on leave times and places you want to go, my only requirement is to get to Fest by the end of October.

come on people, if you cant swing it at least throw me some suggestions. What to do, what to see..."could you swing over a few states in this direction?"...Dont just "view" and run away.

Heres a breakdown of my path, JUST IN CASE, somebody happens to log in looking for a ride. Send me a message with a phone number if you think you might want to hop on the journey at some point.

So my journey begins Monday Sept. 21st, heading west from Sioux Falls towards Yellowstone NP in Wyoming. Near the end of the month I'll be turning south through Utah, where I'll spend the next week or 2. Around Oct. 7 or so I'll be at the Grand Canyon, Around Oct. 10th of 14th in New Mexico, the next week or so spent in Texas, go through New Orleans around Oct. 25th(?) or so...then on to Gainesville.
