This may question seem a bit dumb, but living in an area with limited parking options at times, I figured that I'd ask anyways! So, this will be my first Fest, and I will have a car with me that weekend... more likely than not I won't stay at the Holiday Inn (which I believe is pretty close to all the venues) because I'm cheap! Now the question... how is parking around the venues? Walking from like the Days Inn or Comfort Inn seems like it would take a bit of time.
Thanks in advance!

i think walking is the best idea. or park once in the downtown garage and walk from there.

there is a $5 per day, free on sundays, garage that is in the middle of everything. i'd say there is your best bet because the free parking spaces around the area are there, but to someone who's never been to town, they could be easily mixed up for a "roam towing" spot and well you will get your car towed then.

I may see someone getting shot? Then it would be just like home! I guess it is settled...if I do happen to drive while there I'll park at the parking garage around Market Street.

Walking from Comfort Inn is fine, Dan, we've done it the last couple of years. It only takes about 25 minutes or so. Although, worryingly, it doesn't seem to be bookable at the moment?

Well, a 25 minute walk doesn't seem terrible... I guess I have a lot of time to figure out what to do.

or if at all possible, bring your own bike. I've only got a 45 minute drive, so it's no big deal for me to just have my trunk bungee corded down with my bike sticking out the back. Not sure quite hor far would wanna drive like that though, if you can't fit the bike in your trunk.

Well, I am flying down to Orlando and will have a rental car for the weekend... so that's not a real possibility for me. Thanks for the suggestion though.

rent a bike, like sawtooth said, from the Kickstand. I think they are doing that again this year.

Unless they've changed their policy in the last 6 months or so, the Office Plus plaza (also home to the hell known as Copytalk/UTS and the plasma donation place) does not tow. The plaza is on the NW corner of University Ave and NW 6th St.

As its been said before, if you don't know Gainesville like the back of your hand then its really not a good idea to drive around looking for parking. Luckily I found a spot behind Leo's and left my car there . Also if you want to be brave and park infront of someone's house you can go 1 block north of university and park down that road which i also did, from my experience down that road mostly crusty kids live down it so i wasn't really too worried.
