One of my big complaints with fellow Fest patrons is the throwing of beer at shows.

1. Waste of Beer
2. Potentially Dangerous when it hits someone in the head (especially when they are throwing nearly full, or even sometimes full cans)
3. Makes the floor super slippery
4. I already smell like ass, Id rather not be soaked in beer too
5. The cans are a pain in the ass when you step on them and they mold to your shoes

Also I have a problem with people who buy beer right before a show starts and go to the front of the crowd. Dont you know the band you are going to see is going to have people pushing like crazy? Do yourself and everyone around you a favor and either finish the beer before the set starts or go to the sides or back. I got soaked by a fresh beer so start 2 shows, way to waste 2 dollars. get me soaked, and make the floor slippery.

Also seems like a safety hazard for musicians equipment.

Anyone else agree with me or is it a non-issue/ not a big deal to you?

There should be classes for proper show etiquette for some dumbasses for sure. People with no common sense or courtesy are the worst.

Sometimes you just have to have a beer up front.. You just gotta drink enough before the set starts so you're not spilling it on other people.
Throwing beer cans/bottles, though, that I've got a problem with.

IF you are at the very front, its not bad, but I mean people who stand in the general front, like right where all the moshing/surfing/jumping takes place. Some guy literally stood right next to me right before Ampere started with a full beer, I smartly moved as far away as possible.

The beer can throwing really needs to be adressed though. Bands should call out dumb-asses for these things. If they do it, people might feel like the stupid shits they are. If you want to throw fluid, throw water, but dont throw beer cans.

Glad people are agreeing with me, I thought I may just not be hardcore enough to get it.

Beer throwing doesn't bother me as long as it's down the front and doesn't involve bottles or full cans that could hurt someone. What does seriously fuck me off though is the assholes that barge through the quieter parts of the crowd to reach the pit spilling everyone elses drink in the process. There's really no need for it at all!

That was me during D4 I got in a tad late and was flying down the death trap of stairs at the Venue. I was wasted and had to put my arms around people so I didn't completely fall down the stairs.

I have to say Im guilty of doing that to an extent. I dont know if I spill anyones drinks or "barge" through. But I definitely try to go around people or tap them on the shoulder to scoot over so I can get through.

That's reasonable but I've seen people intentionally crash into as many others as possible when people clearly just wanna have a beer and watch from the side lines. That's the kind of thing that pisses me off!

simple solution to people with full cups near the rowdy areas- "accidentally" tip their cup over right onto their chest/pants.

Just for next time, as a way to avoid the stairs, once you get to the top of the ramp when you enter, turn left, walk to the wall, there's a ramp that leads down to the floor. One of my favorite aspects of the Venue, since I hate wading through people and stairs are my arch-nemesis.

Yeah but give yourself a few minutes to adjust to the darkness as it's well dark walking down that ramp and halfway down there's a big power cable taped across the floor which I managed to trip over a number of times!

Those stairs almost got the best of me. I passed the first set with ease, then two of them came out of no where and I nearly face planted, but was able to catch my balance.

I try not to bump into anyone who isn't obviously into it, especially for the first couple songs of a set. I appreciate reciprocation of this principle, because sometimes I just need a few songs to get my head together or chug my beer or catch my breath before I'm ready to have some stagediver's foot in my mouth.

I think that, once you cross the line into shoving strangers around, you should be prepared to experience just about anything, and I feel that thrown beer and slippery floors are at the milder end of the scale. Personally, stagediving often annoys the shit out of me, and has caused 80% of my show-related injuries, but I understand that it is to be tolerated, as per above.

As for throwing beer or beers, I feel that the throwee should be into it, or at least open to it, on some level, which of course leaves lots of room for interpretation/error. This, coupled with my own interest in drinking beer rather than throwing it, has generally discouraged me from the practice, except in retaliation.

What annoys me most, however, is that shows don't just have a flat fee to drink from the keg. Yeah, I know, good luck with that....

I must say that I hate the beer throwing only for the sole reason that i do not partake in the consumption of alcohol anymore. Although i hate it I have learned to do deal with it but I do wonder why people go right to the front when they just opened a fresh beer, it just makes no sense to me either.

Also the only real issue i had at the Fest were the people who were just stagediving and crowd surfing just to hit people in the face. On more than one occasion i saw the same guy clearly looking for people to either punch or kick in face for no reason that to me is just stupid and it didnt surprise me to see him getting smashed in the face by some guy who didnt think it was cool either.
