So it was the last day of the Fest. The day started by our friend who we were staying with in gainesville basically kicking us out for pretty much no reason( i didn't know that you weren't allow to take shits and use the shower when your a guest at someone house). so we were on our own with no place to sleep and no clothes for the cooler weather that was coming through later on, so it was definitely time for a beer. Our group split up and i went to market street where i drank quite a few beer upstairs.

That sets the back ground story for the moment

my friend and i drunkly rode our bikes to the Atlantic where we drank and listen to more sweet music. I was out in the front of the place waiting for the next band to play ( the shook ones i think) when this cute asian chick from alabama caught my eye. she was just standing there and some how we started talking for 30 minutes or so. All and all things were going pretty smoothly until i managed to fuck it all up ....

During my conversation with this chick she brought up the fact that she liked the shook ones and she was really excited to see them( so automatically i was like dude you gotta stay and fucken rip it up during the show). So i did. this is the exact moment where my beer-mentality took over and the fact that had drunk 8 beers and an irish car bomb earlier became totally irrelevant. The shook ones started playing i was having a fucking blast jumping around and shit. then i took it step farther and started stage diving. Now anyone who was at the Atlantic saw me, i was the black guy with yellow beanie on. I hopped onto the stage and just fucking jumped man. like i went for it like a baby bird learning to fly. To my surprise there was no one under me and i completely and shit and i think it must have looked really bad from an on lookers point of view because everyone lifted me out because they thought i had knocked my self out. To paint the picture more clearly it was like one of those group trust exercises where a person falls back and everyone has to catch them, but minus the people to catch you. so yeah. i made my self look a jackass in front of this chick so i just left.

the rest of the night got progressively worse. I fell over the handlebars of my bike twice trying to skid stop, Popped my back tire, and some dude tried to make out with me ( in the middle of a connivence store.), i had to eat checkers for the third night in a row, followed by a cold and uncomfortable sleep in my car.

so now i'm back in naples with fucked up hip, a broken bike, angry with myself for losing contact and looking like a straight up jackass i front this girl who i was really into. I can't wait for the Fest 9!!! WOO HOO

P.S: make better shirts next year

I really don't know if it's that embarrassing, but it's the best I got.... I was standing up front for The Dopamines. Right when they went on a big rush of people came forward and I had no place to go(I was right against the stage which is maybe 6 inches off the ground), and I went flying onto the stage and couldn't get back up. I ended up using the microphone stand to get up and in the process lowered the mic and felt like a retard.

Not that i care but it may have made others uncomfortable. I was literally on stage during Tim Barry sitting at Josh Small's feet shooting the show. They played the second song and I got deep in thought and relating to Tim and started crying... like a LOT. i didn't even realize i had tears streaming down my face until i saw the faces of the audience members facing me. It was seriously intense. i love those guys with all my heart and can probably relate to what Tim says and sings about more than anyone else i've know for a looooong time now.

I definitely cried at some point for no reason haha. Not really embarrassing but it came out of nowhere.

And I definitely fell hard at Market Street Pub and have a disgusting bruise that encompasses my whole shin.

i found out chason and jana were staying at the hampton inn, because i stopped there with intent to drop a deuce in the lobby bathroom and ran into Chason outside.

then we scared jana away with vows of dutch ovens.

After getting kneed in the face by a stagediver during Off With Their Heads, I had a woozy block of time which included me trying back out of the pit area and falling on my ass, then after the show skipping down the street and high-fiving someone in the middle of a crosswalk whom I only knew over the internet, then (I assume) babbling semi-incoherently to a few members of Defiance, Ohio when I ran into them on a the sidewalk near the parking deck.

My buddy said that he was almost brought to tears by Tim Barrys set as well!! its understandable, Tim's songs are most definitely something special.

my embarassing (well, COMPLETELY SHAMELESS) moment: Pretending to be asleep in the bed while watching two people have FESTsex on the floor!!!! when they finished, i made it clear i was awake, stood up and with my arms outstetched in triumph whispered, "Fest SEX!!!!"

it was hilarious! then i got up and opened the door to let in our buddy who had been knocking for about 20 minutes.

Bonus moment of epicness: hot boxing the van with our cab driver. and it was HER weed!! WIN!

I was flat-out crying during Tim Barry. Like tears-streaming, lower-lip-trembling style. I don't get embarrassed by crying anymore though.
