I was unaware of their existence until I befriended Ryan from OWTH on myspace. Definitely pissed I missed out on them. The shows were fun if you like skinheads and fights. And the singers bachelor party? whoa. Stripper, big fake tits, bigger bodyguard. Totally weird watching guy friends there that were married, with kids. Annnnyway.... next topic.

In your opinions should I get a DSLR before The Fest for some memorable shots, most likely a Nikon D3000, or Canon XS depending on price and ect. This is personally what I want to do and think i would get more use out of it... OR should I get a cheaper Camcorder and video all my favorite bands and all the drunkin antics i get into. I absolutely swear by the Nikon Coolpix series. That's what I've used since I've gone digital. I've had three different models. Also bought the point and shoot versions for my brother and my niece. My Dad has have a few versions as well. They are super easy to use, have lots of shooting options, take great photos and in every price range. I've had SO MANY friends buy one after I suggested them. They'd have a high end option as well as a get raging drunk and shoot bands oprion. Not that my camera wasn't $1000 when i got it and I'm not in the pit with it. But, I don't suggest it if you aren't experienced in doing this. Most photographers won't. And I swear by this digital camera review site too. This is how I found my higher quality Coolpix I use now. There were several to choose from and I knew exactly what I wanted and what I was getting with this site: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Oh btw, I don't use a SLR like a lot of people assume. My camera is just a higher quality point and shoot with more options in a sense. Oh, and it does video too though I rarely use it.

I've been doing various photography since I was 12, I've even had a couple Photos published in calendars, and won some little ribbons and things from new paper photography contests, mostly landscapes. Every year I try to visit 1 or 2 National Parks around the country something my grandparents used to do with me every summer break while I was in school, and what i'll primarily be using it for. Though i've always used PnS camera's currently a Sony cybershot. I love it but I figure I could open up my hobby a little if I upgraded to a basic dlsr.

I had a Sony cybershot before I got my DSLR. You would probably be safe getting a DSLR if you kept the shooting to the automatic settings. I went from that cybershot to a Canon XTi no problem.

Fiddling with the options is half the fun of having it.

Ha. It's all tentative I'm sure. If I'm drunk enough I'm sure you can convince me otherwise. I really want to see Drag since I didn't last year. I'm assuming you're going to watch them?
